Our Story
The concept of Chaparral Mapping & Consulting LLC came out of a over a decade of working and studying the environment of the Texas Hill Country. With its roots deep in the heart of Texas, Chaparral started as an idea that all landowners and ranchers should have the opportunity to learn all that they can about their property. We saw the need for a mapping and environmental consulting firm that economically tailors to the ranch and landowner, and provides them with the most accurate and environmentally sound information possible about their property.

Chaparral understands the short term cycles of the Texas Hill Country as well as the longterm climatic cycles. We have experienced drought and flood and have learned how to best consult clients on their mitigation efforts. It is because of this understanding that Chaparral was formed. We strive to guide landowners and ranchers alike through these environmental cycles and desire to see them all prevail to days ahead.
Chaparral Mapping & Consulting LLC uses its years of experience and resources to customize assistance that clients receive. Chaparral makes a point to not only know the property but know the landowners. We try to visit every property we map with the understanding that seeing it in person will help us to produce the most accurate maps, and guide the landowner through their environmental management endeavors.
The bottom line is that we strive to build a symbiotic relationship with all clients. We believe that doing so better helps us to learn, and in turn, better serve our clients and their properties.

Austin Thomas
Founder & CEO
Austin has lived in the Texas Hill Country all of his life. At the age of four, he began his life on a ranch. There he learned all the skills and knowledge needed to run a successful ranch. After he graduated high school from Medina TX he attended Texas State University in San Marcos. He received his Bachelors degree in Resource and Environmental Studies with a Minor in Physical Geology in the winter of 2015. After graduation he founded Chaparral Mapping & Consulting LLC.
